JACOB COCKS

ASSOCIATE COACH

Jacob is an elite distance runner and English teacher in Adelaide. He started running at the age of 10 for the Flinders Athletics Club, and now takes great pride in representing Flinders at state and national events every year. As a Junior, Jacob was lucky enough to experience International competition at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games in the 2,000m steeplechase. Since then, Jacob has managed many injuries and set-backs, but is proud to quote personal best times of:

5000m: 14:22

10,000m: 29:43

Half Marathon: 65:45

Marathon: 2:21:23

After the cancellation of the Gold Coast Marathon in 2021, Jacob made his debut winning the Adelaide Marathon in August 2021 in a time of 2:22.45. A few months later Jacob lowered his personal best to 2:21.23 placing 11th at the Melbourne Marathon!

Aside from continuing to improve as a runner, Jacob is excited to share his many learnings from years of pushing his body to achieve new levels of performance. He is passionate about working with runners of all levels with the common goal of achieving their personal best. Similarly, Jacob is a keen writer and is eager to refine his skills writing for the RunAsOne website, and sharing the many inspiring stories of the people who make this team so great.
